The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-1 Tuesday night at Lenovo Center for the team's fifth consecutive victory.

Seth Jarvis, Jordan Martinook, Sean Walker and Jack Roslovic all scored while Pyotr Kochetkov stopped 23 shots in the win.

After the game, Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour along with Jarvis, Walker and Roslovic spoke with the media. Here's what they had to say:

Rod Brind'Amour

On the team defense:
I'm sure we could do a lot better, but against a special group out there. Our goalie played really well. Kooch was dynamite. We didn't give up a heck of a lot, but when we did he was there and that was the difference in the game.

On the first penalty kill: Jarvy makes a heck of a play at the end of the penalty kill there. Tampa had been out there for about two minutes in our end. We got fortunate there that they didn't score and Jarvy probably made the best play of the night.

On Sean Walker: He's had a ton of opportunities and chances. It was nice to see him get one tonight, but yeah, his play has been solid.

On the team resiliency: I know what we have in there. We're missing three pretty heavy guys and we were still able to grind it out. I think that's the impressive part of tonight.

On the dominant shift before the Martinook goal: That was probably the best shift they had all night. It was in their end for quite a while. A lot of good opportunities, but I mean, Vasilevskiy made a couple just unbelievable saves and you're like, 'Geez.' But you never know when one might go in. I'm sure he wanted that one back, but that was a great shift.

On building off of positive shifts: It's always a sequence of events. Always one thing leads to another. That was momentum there for sure. I think that goal was kind of typical of the game, the way it was going and then I think the third one was great to get right before the end of the second period. Pretty headsy play by Hallsy and a great finish by Rosy.

On the rotating defensive pairs with Dmitry Orlov out: That's [Tim Gleason] running that back there. You've got the one pair that plays together a little more and everyone else, he's just finding minutes for. There's still a chemistry thing and you're trying to see how Scotty fits in and where he slides, but I think he's done a great job so far.

On Jackson Blake: Really all year, he's had quite a few opportunities and it hasn't quite cashed in or he makes a great play and we don't score, but he's all around it. I think it's just a matter of time.

On Scott Morrow trying to do a bit more of the things he's known for: Well there's those things and then there's things he's known for that we don't like. We have to cut those out. But you have talent and you see the ice, but you have to know when. That's the whole key in this league. When do you flash it and when do you stash it.

Seth Jarvis

On his shorthanded goal: Not tough for me. I loved every second of it. They definitely did the heavy lifting of it. That's an elite power play over there and Marty, Jordo and those guys shut them down pretty good and I'm glad I got to reap the benefits of it.

On his goal: Sometimes I can score. I mean, Blaker gave me like three empty nets that I missed on, but it's nice that I can still put one in every once in a while.

On the confidence to attack while shorthanded: Obviously you have to be smart about it, but we know how it is on the other side. How you're thinking on the power play. So to get those chances and know maybe some of those guys aren't going to backcheck as hard as normal, when you find a bounce or find a little 50/50 puck to kind of cheat it a little bit, but still being aware of what you're doing, leads to those chances.

On the difference in the game: In the first they did a good job. They had a lot of chances and [Kochetkov] played really well, again. But I think after that first period, we did a better job of limiting them. I think they had their pushes like they will, they're an amazing team over there, but I think we did a good job of stopping them for the most part. We had a few guys capitalize on their chances and that was kind of the end of the game.

On his line tipping the ice: Whenever you can stay in the zone for a minute, two minutes and control the puck like we did and have some chances, it's great for the team and great for momentum. Probably should have changed as I was gassed after that, but it was a great shift. We had chances, probably should have capitalized, but Marty was complaining about not playing enough because of me, so he got his goal and now I hope all is well.

Sean Walker

On snapping his goal drought: I think everyone's probably seen that I've had quite a few grade-A opportunities and haven't really capitalized on it, so it was nice to get that one in there for sure.

On the team killing off the early Tampa power play: It was awesome. Obviously that's a lethal power play but the guys went out there and did the job. It was great. And then Jarv comes out and we caught the tail end of it, but it was nice and Jarv made an unbelievable play. Great goal and really happy to get one like that. Definitely nice to get one like that. It's really deflating for the other team.

On the penalty kill's success: Overall, they're just really smart players. They read the play really well, but again, everyone has just bought in to the system. They jump in at the right time and a lot of power plays can get caught off guard by that. They're just so skilled and they can capitalize on their chances. They've done it a lot this year and it's overall just been really effective.

On Pyotr Kochetkov: He's been playing unbelievable all year. Again tonight. Some huge saves on some of their really good players. Again, that can be deflating for a team when you see a goalie just on his game constantly. So that was huge for us and he's done it all year.

On getting a bit more opportunity: I think anybody would tell you it's a lot easier to be involved in the game a lot more with more minutes. Just helps with your confidence and I think just your overall play goes up a little bit. I think this team in general has that next guy up mentality. If someone goes down, someone has to step up. It's been nice, but we do miss Orly so it will be nice to have him back.

On Scott Morrow: He's great. He's bought in, done his job and done everything that's been asked of him. He looks great out there. I think he's had some grade-As too, so he's got one coming here too, for sure.

On the rotating defensive pairings: I think Gleas has his hands full for sure right now. Again, we miss Orly. He's been an amazing D for us all year. When you lose a guy like that, you're trying to see where we can make up those minutes with other guys and it's been a little bit of a whirlwind. I think everyone is playing with each other night in and night out. Everyone's gotta be on their toes, but Gleas has done a great job and everyone has done a great job communicating and playing well for each other.

On stringing together wins: Inconsistency has been maybe something that we've struggled with throughout the year but I mean, you're going to go through those highs and lows. I think everyone will say that this is the time of year where you really find your game and I think we're kind of getting to that point. It's definitely been good.

On the team focusing in now that all the drama is passed: It is what it is and what happened happened. That's in the past and we love everybody that's in this room and we're just going to focus and go forward with it.

On the new guys: I think it's been great. Obviously that first game was huge, the contributions they had, but even tonight. The little things, the little plays. they're really buying in fast to the systems and the style of play we want to do. Seems pretty seamless so far to me.

Jack Roslovic

On reaching the 20-goal mark and scoring his 100th career goal: It took a while.

On the pass from Taylor Hall to set up his goal: Unreal. I slowed down just a little bit and he made a great pass. A great play.

On the team focusing in a bit more without all the distractions: It was obviously a little bit of a crazy month or whatever it was, but it's great to have guys that are going to be here for the long haul. Hopefully we'll try to get into a good rhythm and good groove.

On if the dry spells have been frustrating: Yeah, yeah. I mean, you know, as long as the opportunities come — and I feel like they've been coming — you don't get too upset. You just try to keep on shooting.

On Mark Jankowski: Never played with him, but I've known him off the ice. A little comradery there, but I think he feels comfortable and he likes being here. I think the off ice is helping a little bit on ice.

On Pyotr Kochetkov: I told him to be the best Russian goalie out there tonight and he did that.

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco taking wedding planning 'one day at a time'
Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are taking "one day at a time" with their wedding planning. The newly-engaged lovebirds aren't rushing into their big day, and 37-year-old musician joked his bride-to-be, 32, is constantly coming up with a whole new idea. He told Rolling Stone magazine in a joint interview: “I think every day she’s planned a new wedding in her head. “We’re very much ‘take it one day at a time’ type of people. We’re still not over this moment. "Literally, while you were talking, she was sitting there staring at her ring.” The 'Only Murders In The Building' actress pointed out that for now, they're focused on the upcoming release of their collaborative album 'I Said I Love You First'. She added: “Also, I genuinely feel like this is such a special time that we get to apply it to this album and really just pour our heart into it, and completely translate what we feel and bring it to the world. "That’s my main focus right now, at least.” In December last year, Selena revealed Benny had proposed using an oval-shaped ring with a large diamond. He popped the question during a picnic which featured Taco Bell, but he insisted there wasn't an "elaborate" meaning behind the fast food involvement, He explained: “There’s not this whole elaborate thing. I think we’re very lucky to be surrounded by such great people, and we’ve still just been enjoying so much. “It feels like we got engaged yesterday, but also feels like we got engaged 20 years ago. I’ve known her since she was 18, and so it’s like we got all that stuff out of the way. "By the time we’re dating, it’s like, whoa. My biggest regret is that we didn’t get to do this earlier, like we waited this long to be together. But I know it was perfect and it was right.”

Kings Rolling the Dice on Goaltending - A Risky Deadline Decision
The Los Angeles Kings have recently undergone a self-inflicted fall from grace. Of course, most of their wounds are self-inflicted, but the fumbling at the worst time of year is a stark reminder of a poorly constructed roster if one considers the team 'championship-caliber.' One of the areas that was previously on stable ground has now shown some pulled roots: goaltending.
