Michael Misa Joining Exclusive List And Etching His Name In The OHL's History Books

Saginaw Spirit captain Michael Misa has been at the top or leading the OHL in goals and points practically all season. He's showing no signs of slowing down and is on pace to have one of the best seasons by a 17-year-old OHL player.

Last week, the projected top-five pick in the upcoming 2025 NHL Entry Draft became the first player in the CHL to hit the 100-point mark.

Misa is producing at a 2.12 points-per-game pace, which is the highest since fellow exceptional status member Connor McDavid did it in 2014-15 (120 points in 47 games).

The Oakville native is following in the footsteps of the Newmarket native.

Fellow OHL top prospect Matthew Schaefer will have something to say about that, but Misa is joining an exclusive list of OHL players to have incredible draft-eligible seasons.

Misa is currently on a 19-game point streak, during which he has scored 20 goals and accumulated 45 points. This streak ties him with Winnipeg Jets prospect Kieron Walton for the second-longest point streak of the season in the OHL, both recording 45 points.

On Saturday, Feb. 15, Saginaw demolished the struggling Sudbury Wolves 8-3, led by a five-point performance from San Jose Sharks top prospect Igor Chernyshov, and a hat trick by Misa.

Misa hit the 50-goal mark with his hat trick and became the franchise leader for most goals in a single season by a Saginaw player.

In the last 40 years, only three draft-eligible OHL players have scored at or above a goal-per-game pace: Eric Lindros in 1990-91 (71 goals in 57 games), Patrick Kane in 2006-07 (62 goals in 58 games), and John Tavares in 2008-09 (58 goals in 56 games).

With 50 goals in 50 games, Misa is on pace to join that exclusive list of players.

Lindros, Kane, and Tavares were drafted first overall in their respective draft years. Can Misa join them in not just producing at a goal-per-game when the season is over but also being the first overall selection in 2025?

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco taking wedding planning 'one day at a time'
Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are taking "one day at a time" with their wedding planning. The newly-engaged lovebirds aren't rushing into their big day, and 37-year-old musician joked his bride-to-be, 32, is constantly coming up with a whole new idea. He told Rolling Stone magazine in a joint interview: “I think every day she’s planned a new wedding in her head. “We’re very much ‘take it one day at a time’ type of people. We’re still not over this moment. "Literally, while you were talking, she was sitting there staring at her ring.” The 'Only Murders In The Building' actress pointed out that for now, they're focused on the upcoming release of their collaborative album 'I Said I Love You First'. She added: “Also, I genuinely feel like this is such a special time that we get to apply it to this album and really just pour our heart into it, and completely translate what we feel and bring it to the world. "That’s my main focus right now, at least.” In December last year, Selena revealed Benny had proposed using an oval-shaped ring with a large diamond. He popped the question during a picnic which featured Taco Bell, but he insisted there wasn't an "elaborate" meaning behind the fast food involvement, He explained: “There’s not this whole elaborate thing. I think we’re very lucky to be surrounded by such great people, and we’ve still just been enjoying so much. “It feels like we got engaged yesterday, but also feels like we got engaged 20 years ago. I’ve known her since she was 18, and so it’s like we got all that stuff out of the way. "By the time we’re dating, it’s like, whoa. My biggest regret is that we didn’t get to do this earlier, like we waited this long to be together. But I know it was perfect and it was right.”

Charlie Sheen's daughter Sami 'bullied' for looking like her dad
Charlie Sheen's daughter Sami Sheen was bullied for looking like her famous father. Sami, 20, has admitted the cruel taunts about her appearance from her school mates convinced her she needed to get a nose job and she's also had to deal with comparisons to her actress mother Denise Richards. Speaking to her mom in an episode of family reality show 'Denise Richards and Her Wild Things', Sami explained: "I had to deal with kids bullying me. "People would say I looked like my dad. I actually got a comment the other day of someone saying, ‘You’ll never be as pretty as your mom'." The episode showed Denise driving her daughter to a consultation with a doctor about her planned rhinoplasty prior to the surgery in August and Sami told her mother she had wanted the operation "for as long as [I] can remember", adding: "I have this freaking honker stuck to my face". Sami also pointed to her mom's face as the example of a "perfect" nose as she explained her hope for the surgery to the doctor. Later in the episode, Denise - who is mom to Sami as well as 19-year-old Lola with her ex-husband Charlie- became tearful as she talked about her daughter's desire to go under the knife. She said: "For my daughter to want to get her nose done, it made me so sad. I feel bad that she has to live up to my nose, or whatever, because I don’t want [my daughters] to feel they have to look a certain way ... "There were times I wanted to move the kids out of LA, and I couldn’t because of where I worked. And they had two parents in this business. I feel bad." However, in a confessional, Sami wondered if she would even be considering cosmetic surgery if she wasn't living the celebrity lifestyle in Los Angeles. She said: "I'm really trying to think if we lived in, like, Alabama and I worked a normal job and I wasn't on social media. I probably would still want a nose job."

Gal Gadot blames social media for making the world 'very confusing'
Gal Gadot thinks social media has made the world feel "very confusing". The 39-year-old actress' four daughters - Alma, 13, Maya, eight, Daniella, three, and Ori, 12 months - are all growing up in a social media-obsessed society, and Gal believes the ever-increasing reliance on platforms like Instagram and TikTok is actually unhealthy for young women. The Hollywood star - who has been married to businessman Jaron Varsano since 2008 - told DuJour magazine: "I always tell my kids that for me, growing up was so much easier than it is for you. "They grew up with all these filters. With curated postings. They think it’s real, not knowing that it’s been totally filtered and retouched. "I tell them, ‘Whatever you see out there, it’s false, not true.’ It’s a very confusing world for a girl." Gal's family home was "very, very quiet" during her own childhood. But the actress has joked that her home life is now "mayhem". She explained: "I wanted to have a messy home with mayhem and all that." Gal actually relishes the noise and energy created by her children. The actress said: "If you come to my house, they laugh, they fight, they cry. It’s a whole range of emotions, and I love it. Yes, it’s a lot. I juggle. I do my best and we have help and my husband does the best job as a dad. I don’t sleep a lot." Gal previously admitted that it's not easy to balance her acting career with her family life. The 'Wonder Woman' star told Glamour magazine in 2020: "You have to balance between having a career and having a family. It's something that is always a handful and my career takes a lot."
